Futures setups, tested properly
They say
it works.
We check.
Entry Exit Stop runs the setups traders swear by through two years of real futures data, settles every close call on second-by-second prices, charges real trading costs, and tells you plainly whether the edge is real.
The engine
How a setup gets tested
Most backtests flatter the strategy. Ours is built to catch the ways a strategy fools you, and every step runs the same way for every setup.
Pin the rules
Every setup is written down exactly: where you get in, where you take profit, where you stop out, and when you give up. No discretion, no hindsight.
entry · exit · stop · time limitReplay every day
The rules run on every trading day in the window. When a candle touches both your stop and your target, we look at 1-second data to see which came first.
5m signals → 1m → 1s fillsCharge real costs
One tick of slippage on each side plus commission on every trade. Small edges often disappear here, and the reports show it.
MNQ $2.24 · MES $3.74 per round tripTest honestly
A strategy is only called an edge if it beats chance after accounting for how many ideas were tried. We also run it on shuffled markets, where no edge can exist.
false-discovery control · null tape
Lesson one
A 92% win rate that makes nothing
Buying a break of yesterday's high with a small profit target won 265 of 289 trades on MNQ. But with no stop, the few losers were ten times the size of the winners. After costs it made $0.89 a trade.
Win rate is the number that sells courses. Average win, average loss and cost are the numbers that pay you.

Does it actually work?
Seven setups traders talk about most, tested on Micro Nasdaq (MNQ) and Micro S&P 500 (MES) futures during the regular session. Every number is after costs, for one contract.
Method
How to read these reports
Data
CME Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 (MNQ) and S&P 500 (MES) futures, regular session 9:30 am to 4:00 pm ET, rolled to the next contract before expiry. Signals use 5-minute candles.
Fills
When one candle touches both the stop and the target, 1-minute and then 1-second data decide which happened first. Stops fill at the worse of the stop price and that second's close. Targets fill when touched, which is slightly generous.
Costs
One tick of slippage on entry and exit, plus $0.62 commission per side. That is 1.12 points ($2.24) per MNQ trade and 0.75 points ($3.74) per MES trade.
Verdicts
The p-value tests whether average profit per trade is above zero, grouping trades by day. One setup tested as stated is a single test. Where we tested a family of ideas, the report says how many.
